Some historical facts about disc golf!!!

The history of disc golf is related to the history of the recreational flying disc, which is known by most as a Frisbee. It was invented in the early 1900s. The first time disc golf was ever played was in Bladworth, Saskatchewan in the year 1926 in Canada. At the elementary school of Bladworth, Ronald Gibson and his group of friends played the game by throwing plates made up of tin at any target such as trees and fence posts. They named this game Tin Lid Golf and started playing regularly. They even made a course on their school ground. Soon the children grew older and this game simply ended just like that.

The modern disc golf game was started in the year 1960s, at this time it was played by different people in different parts of the world. Even in the year 1963 an event was held by the students of the Rice University in Houston, in which the trees were used as targets. The founder of the Frisbee golf game is Kevin Donnelly and he started playing this game in the year 1959 and called it street Frisbee golf. He even started organizing Frisbee Golf tournaments in about nine playgrounds, which he supervised. This kept on going and then in the year 1967, he taught the game at Fresno State College.
